Translational Neuromodeling

Enlarged view: Neuromodeling

The Translational Neuromodeling Unit (TNU) was founded in 2012 by Prof. Klaas Enno Stephan. The mission of the TNU is to develop mathematical models for inferring subject-specific mechanisms of brain disease from non-invasive measures of brain activity and behavior. The hope is that such “computational assays” of individual disease mechanisms will provide new diagnostic tools which enable differential diagnosis and treatment predictions for individual patients and thus open a new avenue to personalized medicine in psychiatry and neurology. Situated at the interface between medicine and engineering, TNU integrates computational scientists and clinicians under one roof and operates a custom-designed research clinic for patient studies.
